Enjoy the textured patterns of the traditional yellow-black cotton fabric from North-West Cameroon. This style was handmade from the Toghu fabric. In keeping with this, Amang wears a hair tie in her lacy curls, which was sewn from the same material as the dress.

Amang, Mountain Princess

Amang, our mountain princess comes from North-West Cameroon, a region where the vegetation can be as lush as it is sparse. She is the mother of tradition and customs. Her personality is consistent with the openness and helpfulness characteristic of her compatriots. Like the women in this part of Cameroon, she proudly wears an imposing Afro and exposes her dark tanned skin every day to the rising sun. It is cheerful and playful, and will delight you with its authenticity.

She is the ideal playmate for every little girl.
Whether plaiting braids or experimenting with other hairstyles, Amang will not let go of her smile. And if you want to run your hand through her hair, she's just waiting for it. But be warned, soon you and your little ones will not be able to do without them.

TOGHU: Origins

We warmly welcome you to the northwestern region of Cameroon, whose capital is Bamenda. Here we settle in the district town of Momo, more precisely in Mbengwi. Besides Pidgin English and English the spoken traditional language is Meta. Everything here reminds you of the beauty of traditional Atoghu fabric, commonly known as Bamenda's finest fabric. He represents this part of Cameroon, which was under British rule until the early sixties.

Originally Atoghu is a traditionally hand-woven and embroidered velvet cloth with cowrie shells and other ornaments. Once upon a time, the garment, which exclusively dressed kings, was regarded as a work of art and a sign of superior quality. But the kings in their goodness wished that their noble population would dress at various ceremonies like theirs. They allowed them to make a cotton derivative: Toghu was born.
